At Silver Hand Meadery, we do our best to be good stewards of the environment. Since we opened, we have found ways to reuse, recycle or upcycle many materials generated by our production. We create vases and pitchers hand-blown from the glass of our bottles, and our candles are poured into reused mead bottles as well!

 

To further our sustainability goals in 2024, we began composting with a local business, Fill Happy. They collect and compost all of the waste generated by our Honey Experience Tastings, as well as fruit and spice waste from our mead production.

If you are located in the Greater Williamsburg area and are interested in composting yourself, we are offering a free Honey Experience Tasting for 2 to those who sign up with Fill Happy. Simply show us a picture of you with your green bucket when you come into our store!
