Join us for MEAD UP – Anniversary Weekend: March 17-19, 2017

 In Meadery Tour

Unlike breweries and most wineries in Virginia we are unable to sell mead by the glass. The exception is that four times a year we are able to obtain a special permit which allows us to serve to you by the glass. We call these four special weekends: MEAD UP.

We will be kicking off our first MEAD UP event with our Anniversary Celebration on March 17-19. Silver Hand Meadery bottled its first mead in February of 2016, and 15,000+ bottles later, it is time to celebrate!

We have some great musicians and food planned! See below for details.

While you sip on your mead, listen to some beautiful Celtic themed music played on the unique and spellbinding hammered dulcimer. You can hear Timothy Seaman on Friday night between 6-8pm.

Jazz by Jordan Ponzi (bass) and John Calisto (guitar).

We’ve had the pleasure of hearing Jordan and John a few times over the last couple of years and can’t wait to introduce two of the finest jazz musicians in Hampton Roads to you. You can hear Jordan Ponzi and John Calisto on Saturday from 12:00pm-2:00pm.

Solo Artist, Jocelyn Oldham

Jocelyn has performed in Williamsburg countless times over the last few years and every time we have heard her we’ve been impressed. Her vocals are spot on and her ability to manipulate layers of sound live from her guitar and vocals will captivate you. You can hear Jocelyn between 4:30 and 6:30 on Saturday.

Gaelic BlessingPeter Budnikas (mandolin, banjo, fiddle), Tim Costelloe (fiddle, concertina, banjo), Steve Linton (guitar) and Dawn Linton (accordion).

We are excited to welcome our very good friends Peter, Tim, Steve, and Dawn to the Meadery to share their talents with us. Celtic-themed music played by the blend of mandolin, guitar, fiddle, and accordion are perfectly suited to this weekend. Gaelic Blessing plays Sunday 1:30pm-4:30pm.
